Meet Our Teachers

One of our truly greatest assets is our faculty. They are all gifted and talented educators, and are dedicated to providing the highest level of quality education for our children. All of our teachers have professional degrees, many with master level credentials. Both our lead teachers and co-teachers regularly participate in workshops and training classes for their professional development and career advancement. The staff is fully involved in the development of curriculum and the policies of our school, which creates an atmosphere of teamwork and camaraderie. The sensitivity and understanding that our teachers bring to their classrooms is the reason our students and parents consider Turtle Creek a "home away from home."

Jennifer Cappelluti
Cappelluti2015We were thrilled when Jennifer Cappelluti decided to join the staff at Turtle Creek in 2008. She is invaluable to our school and the children we serve. Jennifer's degrees and certificates are exceptionally impressive. She earned her bachelor's in social work at StonyBrook and went on obtain an MSW from Fordham University. She is a licensed clinical social worker and holds certificates in child abuse prevention and play therapy. Mrs. Cappelluti enjoys working with children and parents. She especially likes observing children through play and offering them opportunities to express themselves and their feelings through play. Her intensive and professional background offers another level of service to our students in the three-year–old program. Mrs. Cappelluti's presence has raised the bar at Turtle Creek and we are pleased and grateful that she is part of our family.

Kasey Fusco
Kasey2016It is rare that a young teacher like Kasey has mastered both the art and science of teaching, but she expertly has. Kasey joined our staff mid year in 2015 after five years of experience in other child care facilities. She continues to pursue her education at Middlesex Community College with a laser-focused goal on becoming the best teacher she can be. Kasey’s love of children is so apparent in everything she does. Children are drawn to her warmth and her laughter. Kasey creates and delivers lessons with such expertise! She teaches both our summer camp and our Holiday Camp. We couldn’t be more pleased with her exuberance and her love of teaching and children. What a find for our wonderful school!

Millie De Leon-Grimaldi
MillieGribaldi
If there were three words to describe Mille De Leon Grimaldi they would be: lively, cheerful and engaging. Mrs. Grimaldi demonstrates such creativity in all the projects she develops for our little ones. More importantly, the love she exudes for children is so deeply heart warming. Mrs. Grimaldi’s post secondary work spans course work from Kingsborough Community College to The College of Staten Island. She assisted in private schools from second grade to kindergarten. On top of her experience and education, Mrs. Grimaldi is proficient in Spanish as well. She teaches weekly Spanish classes to our Pre-K and Kindergarten classes. We are so fortunate to have such a talented, kind, and loving teacher on the team at Turtle Creek!

Eve Giountikos
GiountikosEve Giountikos, affectionately called Mrs. G, is one of the hardest working teachers at Turtle Creek. Mrs. G has been with us since 2005 and has worked in all the classes and supervises our before/after care program. She's a treasure here at Turtle Creek; she's loved by all the children, parents and her colleagues alike.Prior to coming aboard at Turtle Creek, Mrs. G worked at two other preschools. Mrs. G generously shares her Greek heritage with her students. (The teachers love her cooking as well!) She has two fabulous handsome sons and enjoys reading, crocheting, cooking and gardening. Mrs. G is so happy to be a part of our students' lives.

Laura Hauck
LauraHauckMrs. Hauck was a parent at Turtle Creek before she was a teacher. Her second set of twins (Yes, she has two sets of twins) attended our school. Mrs. Hauck was a substitute teacher at Turtle Creek for several years and expertly taught the range of ages. When a teacher position came open, we were thrilled that she could join us. Mrs. Hauck’s graduate and undergraduate work was completed at Pace University. Mrs. Hauck also owns a computer school for children where they interact with robotics, power point, excel and basic programming. She also teaches our computer fun club here on site. When she is not here, she is helping her husband at their new restaurant, The Sensible Fork, in Ridgewood, New Jersey. Mrs. Hauck’s intelligence, warmth, and creativity not only enhance the quality of instruction in her classroom, but also contributes to the overall exceptional educational environment here at Turtle Creek.

Lynn Krachie
KrachieLynn Krachie, our master kindergarten teacher, has the most longevity at Turtle Creek. Mrs. Krachie came aboard in 1999 in our second year of operation. She fully embodies the energetic and artful spirit of being a highly qualified teacher. Mrs. Krachie didn't start out in education. Her first degree is in economics; she worked on Wall Street for a while. In 1999, Mrs. Krachie received her master of education degree from Rutgers and the rest is history. Mrs. Krachie has a love of science and literacy and melds them so seamlessly in some of the "big projects" she undertakes. Whether it's building a rainforest in the class or putting on a circus for the parents, she attacks these types of projects where all content areas are interwoven with incredible gusto. Children come back year after year to tell her what a difference she made in their lives. It's a given that she teaches skills to prepare our students for first grade, but more importantly, she gives our children great confidence and a deep and genuine love for school that will carry them forever.

Lisa Vanasco
VanascoLisa Vanasco joined our staff in 2010. She enjoys assisting in our 2½ year old and 3 year old classes. Mrs. V. worked in another preschool before coming to Turtle Creek. She brings with her much love and a nurturing spirit, a perfect match for our youngest group in the school. Prior to her decision to work with small children, Lisa worked in NYC as a public accountant. She took time off to stay home with her two daughters and currently lives in Manalapan. She is thoroughly enjoying her role with the children here at Turtle Creek.
